Student Orientation Days were held on September 24–25, 2026, for students newly joining Sabancı University. During the two-day program, new students had the opportunity to learn about a wide range of topics, from academic life and student clubs to campus facilities and the university's various departments.
Sabancı University President Yusuf Leblebici addressed the new students at the opening of the Orientation Days, held at the Sabancı Performing Arts Center (SGM). Welcoming the students to Sabancı University, Leblebici emphasized that their university years are not merely a period for acquiring academic knowledge, but the beginning of a significant journey that will shape their futures. He encouraged the students to make the most of the opportunities offered by Sabancı University.
“We Are Moving Forward Together on This Journey”
In his speech, President Yusuf Leblebici highlighted the self-confidence Sabancı University instills in students, alongside the academic opportunities it provides. Emphasizing the importance of Türkiye’s youth potential, Prof. Dr. Leblebici stated, “The potential of young people in Türkiye is extraordinary—a kind of potential found nowhere else.”
Stating that the years spent at Sabancı University prepare students to succeed anywhere in the world, President Yusuf Leblebici said, “Regardless of what is written on the diploma you earn here, the most important thing is that you will graduate with this wealth of knowledge and self-confidence. When you graduate, you will leave here as individuals who can say, ‘No matter where I go in the world, I will succeed.’”
Noting that 32 percent of Sabancı University graduates are currently located in various countries around the world, Prof. Dr. Leblebici described the university’s approach by saying, “We are training ambassadors for the world.” Encouraging students to make full use of the opportunities offered by Sabancı University, Leblebici concluded his speech by saying, “We are moving forward together on this journey. From this point on, we will walk this path of success together—faculty, students, and advisors alike.”
The First Year at Sabancı University
Following President Yusuf Leblebici’s opening speech, Elçin Karana Sürücü, Director of Student Resources, gave a presentation titled “Main Rules: The First Year at Sabancı University,” providing new students with information about their first year of university life.
Later in the program, the Industrial Engineering Society (IES) shared details about its activities with the new students and invited them to participate in the society’s work. Subsequently, Dr. Emre Erol, Director of the Foundations Development Program, and Jacqueline Einer, Director of the School of Languages, gave presentations informing students about the educational processes at the university. During the training and information sessions held as part of Orientation Days, students had the opportunity to gain a closer understanding of campus life and the facilities offered by Sabancı University. The two-day program enabled new students to gather information about university life, meet one another, and take their first steps as members of the Sabancı University community.
Unwinding with Music
Following the orientation program, it was time for music and entertainment. New students shared the excitement of their first day on campus at a concert by Evrencan Gündüz. As the music continued with a DJ set by RadyoSU after the concert, students shook off the day's fatigue while having fun.
Throughout the Orientation Days held on September 24–25, new students attended various training and information sessions covering academic processes, the Foundations Development Program, the School of Languages, student life, and campus facilities. Having the chance to get to know student clubs and meet new friends, the students made a delightful start to their new journey at Sabancı University with the concert and DJ performance.
